As a news writer, a reporter needs to keep in mind that the story is complete. That can happen only when it touches various sub-issues and aspects related to the larger one.
And regulation does not always mean restrictions or disallowing writers from expressing their views. Every individual is entitled to their own opinion but what "regulation" can do is prevent people with vested interests to proliferate their propaganda or in severe cases use this new media to slander or character assassinate other individuals, groups or organizations....
Anyway...bloggers should be happy at least for now BICMA does not have nay such regulations and may not have, for some time to go!
I am not questioning that all bloggers are capable of venting out their hidden agendas.Because many bloggers are writers first and they blog out of their sheer passion for creativity....But in the long run, we can always expect certain 'loopholes' which people could misuse. regulation therefore could mean having safeguards that would prevent such mishaps....

Just my view...

I appreciate that blogging is picking up and bloggers like you guys are taking this forward..keep it up!!!!!we are no writers....https://www.blogger.com/profile/05055535409852188074noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30026077.post-76759802283364100892009-09-30T18:20:56.203+07:002009-09-30T18:20:56.203+07:00I agree PenStar that we, but especially i keep blo...I agree PenStar that we, but especially i keep blog, not to gain atention but just to keep on writing for passion but with greater responsibility!!!

I do not agree 99 % with "regulating online content"! And once they interfere, story will be different.

Is there a need to write such article in the first place? Of course I have seen some Indian newspapers writing about blogging. If you scan through blogospehere, most journalists have blogs. And why would a journalist want blogging regulations and public attention? Blogging is a personal thing; never intended to disrupt our nation's sovereignty.

Hopefully our right and freedom to blog are preserved always.

Let bloggers blog! And in peace! "We need no attention!"Nawang P Phuntshohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08309983746129370511noreply@blogger.com
