A Life of Devotion, Loyalty, and Service to the Golden Throne
With profound sadness and reverence, we mourn the passing of Zimpon Dorji Gyeltshen on July 14, 2025, a man whose life was defined by unwavering loyalty, quiet dignity, and a rare, lifelong commitment to serving the Kings of Bhutan.
Zimpon Dorji Gyeltshen began his noble service when the Fourth Druk Gyalpo, His Majesty Jigme Singye Wangchuck, was just a young Crown Prince of eight years. Over the span of nearly 61 years, he remained steadfast in his duties, serving with grace, humility, and unmatched dedication. His life bridged three glorious reigns—from the time of the Third Druk Gyalpo, through the transformative era of the Fourth King, and into the vibrant reign of His Majesty the Fifth King.
In a world where change is constant and loyalty often fleeting, Zimpon Dorji Gyeltshen stood as a towering symbol of continuity, trust, and enduring service. His silent strength and quiet presence embodied the finest traditions of Bhutanese values—devotion to King and country, humility in greatness, and service without self-interest.
His passing marks more than the end of a remarkable life—it signifies the end of an era. Bhutan may never witness a personality of such calibre again. Zimpon Dorji Gyeltshen’s legacy will remain etched in the hearts of all who knew him, and his name will be remembered with deep respect for generations to come.
May his soul find eternal peace in the blissful realms.
